The need to make the knowledge of history more interactive among the pupils of all the educational systems in Andorra through the methodology used in historical research studies, coincides with the National Historical Archive's wish to spread the knowledge of its documentary heritage and the social and cultural task that it carries out.

  • To make known to pupils the tasks and functions of an archive and to present the main informational contents that may be found there.
  • To introduce pupils to the methodology and process of historical research.
  • To lead the pupil-researcher to attain levels of information and contents allowing the analysis, comparisons and objective and subjective conclusions on a specific aspect of the history of Andorra.
  • To turn pupils into researchers and users of the archive.
  • To introduce the historical knowledge of Andorra on the basis of the informational contents of historical documents.

For this reason, through this page, we make available to teachers and pupils a set of pedagogic activities aimed to make known the world of archives and a sample of the documentary content of the National Historical Archive.

3. Types of archives according to their provenance
- Preparation of scripts
- Preparation of synoptic charts by pupils

4. Documentary classification
- Preparation of a documentary sampling
- Classification of documents by pupils
- Listing of series of documents, with the functions of the institution that has generated them
- Screening of the informational contents of the documents
- Preparation of a glossary of keywords drawn from the documents

5. Research topics
Traditional society, judicial bodies, community life in harmony, the New Reform of 1866, religiosity and mentalities, etc.
- Work with copies of original documents
- Preparation of more complex texts: transcriptions and summaries
- Analysis of documents. Screening of keywords and phrases of the text
- Preparation of questionnaires on the content of the texts
